Mr. Will was born and raised here in San Diego, CA. As the youngest in a family of four was the first to graduate college from San Diego State University earning a B.A. in Political Science. They found a lot of joy and camaraderie during his time in college taking a leadership position in a Latino based campus organization helping others become involved in the community and achieve academic success.
This past year as a Teacher Apprentice they worked with 11th Grade students in Humanities at High Tech High Chula Vista. Mr. Will has previous experience as an Academic Coach at High Tech Middle Chula Vista which has fueled his desire for equitable teaching and creating an environment that respects neurodiversity. Prior to becoming an educator, Mr. Will worked in the financial sector as a loan originator and insurance underwriter.
Outside of the classroom, they’re an avid runner having completed in over ten full and half marathons across the United States. Believing in the importance of developing endurance and persistence, they know that life long learning is a long distance journey that is shaped by every step. Mr. Will is currently earning an M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning at the High Tech High Graduate School of Education.
They also enjoy hiking, reading historical fiction, creative writing, bird watching and in the summer traveling to different ballparks supporting his favorite San Diego Padres baseball team.
